Diablo III is now on the clan services list. We have also decided to remove Steam and PSN from the official clan games because we have changed the clan's focus. Please update your profiles with your battle tag so clan members can add you easily.

The first Diablo III game night will be this Saturday night. Depending on how many people show up and the level of the group, we might all make new characters to play together or just try playing on Nightmare difficulty.

Since there are no channels or clan features yet on Diablo III, we will continue to use our Skype group to communicate with each other.

Diablo III is coming in just a few days, and we are going to completely support the game in the clan by having game night for it and adding a new profile field along with a users list. For ways of getting the game, you can buy the game online straight from blizzard's site, and they will provide you with a download on release day. If you're planning on ordering a physical copy online, Amazon does offer release day delivery, free shipping, and tax free for many states. You should be able to pick it up at any game retailer as well.

Here's some links to help get you ready for the game.

Spring is here, and so are some great new additions to the clan! As previously discussed, we have added Playstation Network and Skype support to the clan. As I was implementing those, I decided to add Steam as well since there was a good amount of interest in our discussion of PSN. I would like everyone to take the time to update their profiles by adding your accounts from these services to your profiles. For Steam, it was a little tricky since most people don't know their 64-bit Steam ID. I decided to use Steam's Custom URL to help find other clan members and I have provided a tutorial to help you figure out what your Custom URL is.

I've also made many cosmetic changes to the site. Now under each person's avatar in a post, you will be able to see what their SC2, PSN, Steam, and Skype accounts are for quick reference. You can click on their accounts too for quick actions, with the exception of SC2 since there is still no API to get a link to a profile page from the name#code. This data is only visible to registered members for privacy.

The resources tab on the main portal now has icons to represent each section, and all those section have undergone changes with new art, and some updated text. The most significant change is that the SCII Members List has been superseded by the Services ID List. This new list allows you to view which members are using any of the current services we have added to the clan by simply clicking on the icon of the service. This list is only accessible to members, again for privacy.

The last cosmetic change came about from my recent upgrade to the new iPad. I was disappointed in the appearance of our site on that display, so I decided from now on to make a good effort to double the resolution of images I use so they will look very sharp on high DPI displays. Here's a sample image below. When you view the full size at 100%, note the clarity of the clan logo and my avatar at the top, the FF13-2 logo in the post, and the resource icons on the right. It looks amazing on a 9.7" screen at that resolution! I just wish we had a high resolution theme to go with it.

With all these changes, it'll be quite simple to add Diablo 3 to the clan when it gets released in May. Spring Game Night will be starting a week or two late since I will be out of town this week and I'm not sure if I'll have the schedule ready in time. Make sure you check the Winter Game Night attendance records for discrepancies.

I hope everyone enjoys the new changes and additions to the clan!

TL;DR VERSION:
PSN, Steam, Skype added. Update your profile. Better graphics.

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays! Now that they are over, I wanted to take the time to let everyone know what's going on and coming up. 2012 is here and we're hoping to continue the clan as a friendly gaming community. We've been posting here and there on the clan's twitter account, so please follow us if you use twitter (@clan_ia)!

As a clan, we are eagerly anticipating the releases of Diablo 3 and the SC2 expansion, Heart of the Swarm. We'll continue our regularly scheduled game nights, but I'm considering on having a few special ones that won't be on Blizzard games. I have a few games in mind, but I'm not ready to announce any yet.

The clan's 4 year anniversary is rapidly approaching. We'll probably be meeting up on classic battle.net possibly for the last time on there to celebrate. I will have an event posted on here soon. February 17 will be the date and the time will be the usual for meetings, 9PM EST. A secret contact of mine told me there's a 70% chance there will be a big surprise... queue the guessing!

On a final note, all 2011 news messages have been moved to the news archive.
